Michael Katz founded Pocketop in 1997. Mr. Katz developed his powerful
vision surrounding the role of the keyboard in the creation of the world's
first true pocket computer. For the next four years, he focused on the
miniaturization of computers and laptops and filed a series of patents
related to folding keyboards and screens.
In late 2000 Bill Wrixon joined Pocketop as CEO. Through early 2001 a
management team was formed with the goal of commercializing Mr. Katz's designs.
Pocketop conducted consumer focus groups to refine certain elements of the
design, and identified key strategic partners for industrial design,
electronics design, manufacturing, sales, marketing and distribution, and
software development.
Pocketop began production of its first product in October 2001.
